Total Language Solutions will, subject to any over-riding applicable legal constraints, always:
Accept, as members of the Linguist Register, any professional linguist who can confirm their compliance with the registration standards as set out in the registration process.
Never knowingly discriminate in the registration process on the grounds of geographic location, age, sex, colour, marital or other personal status or relationships, religious or other personal beliefs (these are not questions which we ask and applicants for registration are not expected to disclose this information in any part of the process)
Invite linguists to accept assignments and make the assignment linguist selection solely on the basis of linguist and business / commercial experience relevant to the assignment and / or availability to meet any client-imposed deadlines and on no other criteria (the computer search programmes are configured solely to these criteria) and will never knowingly discriminate in the assignment selection process on the grounds of geographic location, age, sex, colour, marital or other personal status or relationships, religious or other personal beliefs.
Will guarantee payment for services rendered under the terms of each assignment contract.
Will not disclose, or make available, the name or any other information relevant to the linguist which could enable a client or any third party to identify the linguist or to make any unsolicited contact with the linguist whether on a particular assignment or other wise.
Will use its best efforts at all times to protect the integrity of the company's data bases, including the Linguist Register, from external access by any party.
Reserve the right to remove from the Linguist Register any linguist who is, or is considered by Total Language Solutions, to be in breach of any of the registration undertakings without prejudice or obligation on the part of Total Language Solutions.
The applicant linguists, subject to applicable law
Commit to make full and accurate initial disclosure as to their professional qualifications and commercial / business experience and to keep Total Language Solutions promptly notified of any material changes.
Undertake to keep Total Language Solutions accurately informed of any changes in contact details, especially e-mail addresses, contact telephone and fax numbers.
Undertake to promptly notify Total Language Solutions if they are not available to accept assignments because of (say) holidays, sickness or other commitments or if they wish their details to be removed from the Linguist Register for whatever reason.
Guarantee not to accept any assignments which present them with a conflict of interest.
Agree not to disclose any information relating to client assignments, or the material pertinent thereto to any third party for any reason whatsoever.
Agree not to accept assignments from any current or past client introduced to the linguist by Total Language Solutions other than via TLS and to notify TLS promptly of any such approach which approach would be in breach of client undertakings.
Confirms that all authorship rights vest in Total Language Solutions.
Agree to waive any surrenderable rights in accepting registration under, for example, data protection laws.
Both Total Language Solutions and the linguist jointly undertake not to be knowingly party to any assignment, and to disclose any relevant concerns to the other party, in respect of any matter which does or could:
Affect adversely human dignity, civil liberties or rights.
Relate to child pornography, directly or indirectly.
Relate to any international or national criminal offence.
Including sex related, smuggling of goods or people, illegal drugs, illegal handling of armaments or military technology, spying, industrial espionage and money laundering or other material activity in contravention of any relevant domestic or international law.
